Market Update

September 30 2008 Market

Looks like the summer weather came back for another week. Blueberries and blackberries are finished for the season but there should be some raspberries. Strawberries should be available as should grapes. Apples, pears and plums should will all be in good supply. The warm weather is helping the peach harvest and there should be a nice supply of peaches as well. On the vegetable side, corn, summer squashes, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers will be plentiful. You should also find potatoes, onions, green beans, chard and kale will be available.

Greenville Farms will be back with corn as well as prune plums, broccoli, summer squash, green beans (maybe) and zucchini. They may have gourds and mini-pumpkins too. Unger Farms will be bringing strawberries, grapes and hopefully raspberries. Packer Orchards will have apples, pears and peaches. Sulina and Bay’s Farm will be bringing chard, carrots, beets, cabbage, radishes, corn, basil and other fresh herbs, zucchini plus green beans. Russell’s Bread will be making sandwiches while Little Pots and Pans will be bringing a selection of savory tarts, tartlets and salads. Xiong Farmer will be selling a variety of flower bouquets. Rogue Creamery will have its usual great lineup of cheeses while Anton’s Bakery will have a wide selection of gluten-free baked goods.

See you at the Market!
