July 14 2009 Market Preview

Cherries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries will be readily available this week. Apricots may be in this week. Peaches and nectarines are still a week or two away.

Here’s the expected availability list:

Sulina and Bay’s Farm – blueberries, strawberries (maybe), herbs, peas, carrots, daikon, radishes, beets, lettuce.
Radicle Pastures (certified organic)- Raspberries, lettuce.
RedTree Farm -salad mix, eggs, and goat’s milk soap.
Packer Orchards – pear juice sweetened baked goods, jams and pears, cherries.
Greenville Farms – blackberries, raspberries, blackcaps (maybe), hazelnuts, eggs, prunes and jams.
Unger Farms – strawberries, raspberries (red and yellow), blueberries, blackberries.
Katie’s Gluten-Free Home Baking – gluten free baked goods.
Little Pots and Pans – savory tarts, risotto cakes, and mini-tarts.
Nature’s Choices – fresh mushrooms (wild and cultivated), dried mushrooms, mushroom salt, honey, dried rose hips, huckleberry jam
Rogue Creamery – artisan cheeses.
Xiong Farmer – flowers.
Todbott’s Triangles – sushi.
THINK Unique Garden – plant starts.
Total Pig – pork raised on certified organic pastures.
Bigfoot Bread – pitas, breads, pita chips.
Savory et Sweet – crepes and salads. (I’ll post the menu as soon as I receive it.)

shaved pepper turkey breast, shaved virginia ham, provolone cheese with bleu cheese crumbles, tomatoes & spinach.

Nature’s Choice Maitake & white mushrooms sauteed with shallots in butter, parsley & sherry, with provolone cheese & spinach

Cheese crepe $5

mixed fresh market berries with local organic jam, served with powdered sugar & whipped cream.
Chocolate/Berry crepe $6
dark chocolate with mixed berries, served with powdered sugar & whipped cream

Paris crepe $5
brown sugar, butter, lemon with powdered sugar & whipped cream.

Salad $7
Pesto marinated fingerling potatoes, fresh green beans, garbanzo & fava beans, tomatoes, pine nuts, mini fresh mozz. balls, mini & fresh corn, marinated garlic cloves & artichokes,. Served over market lettuces with Dave’s Killer bread & brie.

Appetizer/Snack Plate $6
