Market News – May 11 2010 Market

THINK Unique Gardens is back this week with plants and vegetable starts (including tomatoes). Little Pots and Pans is at the market this week. If you missed last week’s Foodday, there was a good article on hand pies featuring Little Pots and Pans and several other bakeries. You can find the article here (link). Unger Farms, Sulina & Bay’s Farm and Radicle Pastures are still several weeks away from returning to the market.

Here’s the rundown for all vendors this week:

Rick Steffen Farm – asparagus, onions, shallots, scallions, leeks, potatoes, carrots, kohlrabi, spinach, swiss chard, broccoli, broccoli raab (rapini), turnips, strawberries, tulips, irises and daffodils.

Packer Orchards – pears, cookies.

Greenville Farms – prunes, hazelnuts, eggs and jams.

Nature’s Choice – fresh mushrooms (shiitake, maitake, black trumpets, morels), dried mushrooms, nettles, watercress (maybe), mushroom salt, honey, chestnuts, huckleberry jam.

Bigfoot Bread – toasting bread, pitas & flatbreads, pita chips, cinnamon rolls, cornbread, apple kuchen (maybe), Good Morning Bar.

Little Pots and Pans – Savory tarts, tartlets, salads, cookies.

Fressen Artisan Bakery – Austrian and German breads and pastries including boerek, mueslibrot, volkornbrot, pretzels, bavarian croissants, granola, fruit/almond danishes and brioches.

THINK Unique Gardens: perennials, vegetable starts (including tomatoes), herbs.
