Market Update

Market Update May 25 2010 Market

Hood, Shuksen and the other June strawberries are going to be a bit late this year. Cherries seem to be the same. There are Seascape strawberries available so you won’t go berry free. Rick Steffen Farm has raspberries and cherries in greenhouses and should be bringing some of both to the market in the coming weeks.

Here’s the rundown for all vendors this week:

Rick Steffen Farm – asparagus, onions, shallots, scallions, leeks, potatoes, carrots, kohlrabi, spinach, swiss chard, turnips, strawberries, tulips, irises and daffodils.

Packer Orchards – BACK JUNE 1.

Greenville Farms – prunes, hazelnuts, cookies, eggs and jams.

Nature’s Choice – fresh mushrooms (shiitake, maitake, black trumpets, morels), dried mushrooms, watercress (maybe), mushroom salt, honey, chestnuts, huckleberry jam.

Bigfoot Bread – toasting bread, pitas & flatbreads, pita chips, cinnamon rolls, cornbread, apple kuchen (maybe), Good Morning Bar.

Little Pots and Pans – savory tarts (including gluten free), tartlets, salads.

Fressen Artisan Bakery – Austrian and German breads and pastries including boerek, mueslibrot, volkornbrot, pretzels, bavarian croissants, granola, fruit/almond danishes and brioches.

THINK Unique Gardens: vegetable starts (including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, chard), hardy perennials.
