Market Update

June 15 2010 Market Update

What a difference a few days of sun can make. Berries are ripening, peas and lettuce are growing like crazy and the ground is dry enough for farmers to plant. Packer’s cherries are at least another week out but Greenville Farms should have some raspberries tomorrow. There should be plenty of strawberries and greens tomorrow as well. Little Pots and Pans has a few new items this week – Strawberry Basil Goat Cheese Tart and Spring Pea w/Pistou (French Basil Pesto) Soup. Here’s the rundown for all vendors this week:

Rick Steffen Farm – onions, shallots, scallions, leeks, potatoes, carrots, kohlrabi, spinach, swiss chard, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries.

Greenville Farms – strawberries (Shuksan), raspberries (probable), prunes, hazelnuts, cookies, eggs and jams.

Nature’s Choice – fresh mushrooms (shiitake, maitake, porcini, morels), dried mushrooms, mushroom salt, honey, chestnuts, huckleberry jam.

Bigfoot Bread – toasting bread, pitas & flatbreads, pita chips, cinnamon rolls, cornbread, apple kuchen (maybe), Good Morning Bar.

Little Pots and Pans – savory tarts (including gluten free), tartlets, salads. NEW THIS WEEK – Strawberry Basil Goat Cheese Tart, Spring Pea with Pistou Soup.

Fressen Artisan Bakery – Austrian and German breads and pastries including boerek, mueslibrot, volkornbrot, pretzels, bavarian croissants, granola, fruit/almond danishes and brioches.
