Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries will be plentiful this Tuesday. Sour cherries started appearing at markets over the weekend. There may be some at the market tomorrow. Rainier and Bing cherries should still be available tomorrow. Apricots and peaches showed up in small quantities this past weekend as well. Apricots should be available tomorrow but peaches may be another few days off. Lettuce should be readily available as should chard, spinach and green beans.
Vendor news: THINK Unique Gardens is off this week but back next Tuesday July 20th. Full of Life Farm will be at the market this Tuesday rather than Thursday. Kris Sampson and her family are working on a schedule to be at the market more often with salmon. I hope to have them back next Tuesday, July 20th.
Here’s the vendor rundown for this Tuesday:
Rick Steffen Farm – onions, shallots, scallions, leeks, potatoes, carrots, green beans, sugar snap peas, basil (maybe), kohlrabi, spinach, swiss chard, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries (probable).
Greenville Farms – strawberries (maybe), raspberries, blueberries, prunes, hazelnuts, eggs and jams.
Full of Life Farm – beef, chicken, pork.
Nature’s Choice – fresh mushrooms (shiitake, maitake), dried mushrooms, mushroom salt, honey, chestnuts, huckleberry jam. (Possibly wild huckleberries).
Bigfoot Bread – toasting bread, pitas & flatbreads, pita chips, cinnamon rolls, cornbread, apple kuchen (maybe), Good Morning Bar.
Little Pots and Pans – savory tarts (including gluten free), tartlets, salads including Strawberry Basil Goat Cheese Tart, Spring Pea with Pistou Soup.
Fressen Artisan Bakery – Austrian and German breads and pastries including boerek, mueslibrot, volkornbrot, pretzels, bavarian croissants, granola, fruit/almond danishes and brioches.
Packer Orchards: cherries, pear juice sweetened cookies and hand pies.
Radicle Pastures (certified organic): lettuce.
Rogue Creamery: cheeses, butter.
Unger Farms: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries.
Xiong Farmer: Flowers.
