Market Update

Market Update July 22 2010

Peaches came to the market this past Tuesday and were a big hit. There will be plenty more tomorrow. Bing and Rainier cherries will be available too. As for berries, there will be Albion strawberries, Tulameen and Golden Anne raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Radicle Pastures expects to have plenty of lettuce and cabbage tomorrow along with a few other items. You should also find carrots, snap peas, onions, beets, cilantro and chives tomorrow.

Fressen Bakery will have a wide selection of German and Austrian breads, pretzels and savory and sweet pastries. The Hummus Stop will have several flavors of hummus, pita, pita chips, tabouli, artichoke salad and other savory items. Amaranth of Ammie’s Goodies will be back with a wide variety of gluten-free items including her gluten-free baguette. Little Pots and Pans has another large catering job and won’t be at the market tomorrow. I guess I have to wait until next week to buy another peach-arugula tart. We have a new vendor starting this week. Sage and Sea Farms makes drinking vinegars in a variety of flavors including strawberry, ginger, meyer lemon, tart cherry, and grapefruit. Mixed with water or club soda, these vinegars make a refreshing drink.

Here is the rundown for all vendors this Thursday:

Ammie’s Goodies – gluten free baked goods.

Greenville Farms – blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, marionberries, prunes, sugar snap peas, hazelnuts, cookies, eggs and jams.

The Hummus Stop – hummus (8+ flavors), tabouli, baba ganoush, artichoke salad, pita.

Little Pots and Pans – OUT BACK NEXT WEEK

Fressen Artisan Bakery – German and Austrian breads and pastries.

Radicle Pastures (certified organic): Lettuce, cabbage.

Packer Orchards and Bakery – cherries, pear sweetened cookies, fruit hand pies.
