Market Update August 17 2010

You should find plenty of corn this Tuesday. Greenville Farms will have corn, summer squash, green beans, and blueberries. Packer Orchards will have plenty of peaches, nectarines, and cherries and cookies. Unger Farms will have strawberries and blueberries. Rick Steffen Farm will have lots of peppers, summer squashes, fruit, tomatoes and more.

Vendor news: THINK Unique Gardens is back this week. Fressen Artisan Bakery will be out for a few weeks while owner/baker Edgar Loesch takes a well earned vacation. Fressen will be back at the market on September 7th.

Here’s the vendor rundown for this Tuesday:

Rick Steffen Farm
Tomatoes, corn, zucchini, summer squash, green beans, peppers, raspberries, blackberries.

Greenville Farms – blackberries,raspberries (maybe), blueberries, prunes, green beans, Romano beans, corn, crookneck squash, hazelnuts, eggs (maybe) and jams.

Full of Life Farm – beef, poultry, pork, eggs (maybe).

THINK Unique Gardens – hardy perennials, succulents, garlic, shallots, vegetable plants.

Nature’s Choice – fresh mushrooms (shiitake, maitake, lobster (maybe), chanterelle (maybe)), dried mushrooms, mushroom salt, honey, chestnuts, huckleberry jam.

Bigfoot Bread – pitas, good morning bars, cinnamon rolls, corn bread, Joshua bread.

Little Pots and Pans – Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Soup, Salads (Greek Orzo, Italian Three Bean & SW Corn & Black Bean Salad), tarts and tartlets (Spinach Pie, Mushroom Leek Swiss, Roasted Tomato, Carmelized Onion Goat Cheese, Peach Arugula Feta). Gluten Free (and Vegan) Moroccan Vegetable Tart.

Fressen Artisan Bakery – ON VACATION.

Packer Orchards: cherries, peaches, nectarines, pear juice sweetened cookies and hand pies.

Radicle Pastures (certified organic): lettuce, cabbage, pickling cucumbers, zucchini, fresh herbs, squash blossoms (maybe).

Unger Farms: strawberries (Albion), blueberries (Spartan).

Xiong Farmer: Flowers.
