Market Update September 16 2010

September 15, 2010

There are only three Thursday sessions left for this year. Thank you for your support in the first year of the Thursday market sessions. Between the weather and the road construction, it has been an interesting year. We were able to bring several new vendors to the Lloyd market this year because of the additional day. Ammie’s Goodies, The Hummus Stop and Nectar Coffee Company plan on moving over to the Tuesday session in October. Sulina & Bay’s Farm should be moving to Tuesday as well, weather willing.

What will be coming to market this Thursday? Greenville Farms will have plenty of peppers, corn, cucumbers, squash, and potatoes. Rick Steffen Farm will have okra, peppers, squash, onions, green beans, peaches, and a selection of berries. Both should have plenty of tomatoes too. Radical Pastures will have broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers and fresh herbs. The Hummus Stop will have hummus, pita, pita chips, tabouli, artichoke salad and other savory items. Amaranth of Ammie’s Goodies will be back with a wide variety of gluten-free items including her gluten-free baguettes. Fressen Bakery is back (hoorah!) with pretzels, breads, and pastries. Nectar Coffee will be back making drip coffee by the cup and have whole beans for sale.

Vendor News – Unger Farms is finished for the season. They will still be at the Tuesday market. Soup Cycle joins the Lloyd market for the remaining Thursday sessions. You’ll probably recognize their cargo bike as it is a familiar sight in the neighborhood.

Here is the rundown for all vendors this Thursday:

Greenville Farms – strawberries, cucumbers, prunes, peppers (hot and sweet), corn, green beans, zucchini, crookneck squash, summer squash, hazelnuts, eggs and jams.
