Market Update October 26 2010

October 25, 2010

It had to happen eventually. The season is over for Unger Farms. They’ll be back next June.

While the temperatures hold, we’ll still have tomatoes, peppers, and other summer items this week. Greenville Farm will be bringing their pepper roaster tomorrow. If you’ve never experienced a fresh roasted pepper, you need to try them. There will be a nice selection of winter squash (including pumpkins) tomorrow. Wild mushrooms (lobster, matsutake and chanterelle (white and yellow) mushrooms should be readily available as well. Bill had a few cauliflower mushrooms last week. Hopefully he will have some tomorrow as well. You’ll find spinach, carrots, beets, potatoes as well.
