Market Update

Market Update November 9 2010

Greenville Farm’s pepper roaster will be back. There will be a nice selection of winter squash tomorrow. Wild mushrooms (matsutake and chanterelle (white and yellow) mushrooms) as well as maitake and shiitake mushrooms should be readily available. Nature’s Choice should have several kinds of sprouts and hopefully wild watercress. Rick Steffen Farm should have chard, spinach, carrots, beets, potatoes and peppers.

Vendor update –
Early heads up, Star Anise Kitchen will start coming to the market on November 16th. Star Anise was at Portland Farmers Market (Buckman) on Thursdays and Lents Farmers Market on Sundays. Star Anise will offer a variety of South Asian influenced dishes including soups, sandwiches, curries and biryanis. Like Savory et Sweet, Peter Fung sources from market vendors and changes the menu weekly. We look forward to sampling Peter’s food next week.
