While we’ve had cold days this winter, the weather overall hasn’t been too bad (in the Northwest at least). Greens like chard and kale have recovered pretty nicely from the cold December days. Wild mushrooms like hedgehogs and black trumpets have been more available in years past. It will be very nice to not have a cold May and June. Several farms I’ve visited are starting to see growth on their strawberries under cover. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a warmer spring.
We have a few vendors returning to the market. SoupCycle returns to the market this week with 3 kinds of soup. Meadow Harvest is back with a great selection of beef and lamb. Bigfoot Bread will be out for a few weeks.
