June 14 2011 Market Update

Unger Farms returns to the market this week. We will finally have strawberries at the market this week.Cherry season will be very late this year though. Packer Orchards will probably not be back until July. THINK Unique Gardens will be switching to an every other week schedule. Suzanne is out this week but back next week. Kris Sampson will have fresh and smoked salmon this week.

Here is Tuesday’s vendor rundown:

Greenville Farms – rhubarb, prunes (fresh and dried), hazelnuts, eggs, and jams, chocolate hazelnut cookies.

Nature’s Wild Harvest – fresh mushrooms (shiitake, maitake, oyster), porcini (maybe), morels, blonde morels (maybe), dried mushrooms, mushroom salt, honey, huckleberry jam.

Bigfoot Bread – Joshua bread, toasting muffins, pita (maybe), foccacia (maybe), cornbread, good morning bars.

Olympic Provisions – hot dogs (*NEW*), charcuterie including Cacciatore, Chorizo Andalucia, Chorizo Navarre, Chorizo Rioja, Finocchiona, Loukanika, Nola, Salchichon, Saucisson Sec, Saucisson d’Alsace, Saucisson d’Arles, Sopressatta. Fressen Bakery – pretzels, German and Austrian breads and pastries.

The Hummus Stop – hummus (8+ flavors), tabouli, baba ganoush, artichoke salad, tzaziki, pita.

Nectar Coffee Company – drip coffee, whole bean coffees.

Soupcycle – this week’s menu:

Gazpacho (vegan)
Classic chilled summer soup made with ripe tomatoes, fresh onions and crisp cucumbers.
Who Framed Ginger Rabbit (veggie)
Sweet and savory carrot soup with a strong punch of ginger.

Chicken Noodle (meaty)
Savory chicken, wide noodles, plenty of carrots, celery and just the right spice.
