June 21 2011 Market Update

Unger Farms will have Albions and Hoods this week. Greenville Farms will have Albions. Their Shuksan and Hood strawberries are not ready for market. Little Gnome Farm is slowly catching up from the spring weather. Paul hopes to be in the market by July. THINK Unique Gardens was planning on coming this week but Suzanne is sick.

Here is Tuesday’s vendor rundown:

Greenville Farms – rhubarb, strawberries (Albion), prunes (fresh and dried), hazelnuts, eggs, and jams, chocolate hazelnut cookies.

Nature’s Wild Harvest – fresh mushrooms (shiitake, maitake, oyster), porcini (maybe), morels, dried mushrooms, mushroom salt, honey, huckleberry jam.

Unger Farms: strawberries (Albion, Hood).

Bigfoot Bread – Joshua bread, toasting muffins, pita (maybe), foccacia (maybe), cornbread, good morning bars.

Olympic Provisions – hot dogs (*NEW*), charcuterie including Cacciatore, Chorizo Andalucia, Chorizo Navarre, Chorizo Rioja, Finocchiona, Loukanika, Nola, Salchichon, Saucisson Sec, Saucisson d’Alsace, Saucisson d’Arles, Sopressatta. Fressen Bakery – pretzels, German and Austrian breads and pastries.

The Hummus Stop – hummus (8+ flavors), tabouli, baba ganoush, artichoke salad, tzaziki, pita.

Nectar Coffee Company – drip coffee, whole bean coffees.

Soupcycle – this week’s menu:

Coconut Yum (vegan)
Smooth lentil soup made with sweet coconut milk, fresh basil and a touch of ginger.
Cheese Tortellini and Vegetable Minestrone (veggie)
Robust broth, lots of veggies and tasty cheese tortellini.

Great Bowl of China (meaty)
Chinese hot and sour soup- made with bamboo shoots, mushrooms, chicken and green onions.

Xiong Farmers – flowers.
