Live music today, and cherries at the Lloyd Farmers Market!

image

Another beautiful day at the Lloyd Farmers Market, and we have live music for you! Marisa Anderson will be playing solo guitar from 11am to 1pm today at the market. Remember, as part of our Summer Event Series, we’ll have live music on the second Tuesday of every month, through the summer.

Starting today, Fraga Farm will be selling bread and other baked goods from Fressen Artisan Bakery alongside their farmhouse goat cheeses! Those of you who’ve been coming to the market for a couple years will remember Fressen and their delicious pretzels from the 2011 season. Masala Pop is back at the market today. Through the summer they’ll only be here once a month, so make sure and take this chance to pick up some spiced popcorn – they’ll be back next on July 13th. And perhaps the most exciting thing today, ProFarm Produce has the first cherries of the season!

Next week, June 18th, as part of our summer event series, we’ll be kicking off our What’s For Dinner market tours (third Tuesday of each month). Local chef and HFM Board Member Amie Edelstein will present simple recipes using market foods and lead customers on a tour of the market to buy all the ingredients.  The idea is that you can take home all the ingredients, add a few common pantry items and make a quick but delicious dinner that night.  The tours will start promptly at noon and recipes will be available at the market and on our website starting one week before the tour. This month’s recipe is Mushroom Spinach Frittata – check it out on our website, or you can pick up a copy of the recipe at the market info booth today!
