We’re on the cusp of autumn, but plenty of summer produce is still available today at the Lloyd Farmers Market! Greenville Farms and Rainbow Produce have tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, melons and more, and Kiyokawa Family Orchards still has some peaches, nectarines, and pluots in addition to a growing variety of apples and pears.
We have some guests today: Down Home Music will be playing live music from 11am to 1pm – you may recognize their violinist Jeffrey as a frequent busker at the Lloyd Farmers Market. And Multnomah County will be tabling with information about the Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge Project.
Want to make a difference in your community and shape the future of your neighborhood farmers market? Lloyd Farmers Market is currently taking applications for new members to join our volunteer board of directors, which governs both Lloyd and Hollywood Farmers Markets! As a non-profit organization, we rely on our volunteer board to oversee the direction, sustainability, and financial health of both farmers markets. The deadline for applications is Monday, October 7, 2019 – see this article for more information and to apply.
